Acorn Personal Loan
A fixed-rate loan for plans that do not fit in a savings pot yet. The rate never moves, the payment never moves, and the tables show exactly how much of each payment is interest.
Treehouse Improvement Loan
Larger sums over longer terms for work on the drey, at a slightly lower fixed rate. The illustration is unsecured: the treehouse itself is never at risk, which is more than can be said for the roof.
Wheelbarrow Car Loan
A straightforward loan for a straightforward vehicle. Unlike finance from a wheelbarrow dealer, the money is lent to the customer, so the barrow is theirs from the first push.

Loans questions
Shared with every product page in this range and the full FAQ list.
What does “APR representative” mean?
The annual cost of the loan including any fees, quoted for a typical story customer. Every loan here has no fee, so the APR is simply the fixed interest rate.
Can I settle a loan early?
Yes, in the model: the balance plus up to 58 days’ interest, the usual convention. Each loan page shows the figure after half the term and the interest saved.
Should I pick a longer term?
A longer term lowers the monthly payment and raises the total repayable. The tables show both for every amount and term so the trade-off is visible.
Is the loan secured on my treehouse?
No. All three loans are unsecured in the model; the treehouse is never at risk, even for the improvement loan.
Fixed-rate borrowing for a purpose: a personal loan for plans, a larger loan for treehouse improvements and a car loan for the wheelbarrow. Every page shows the monthly payment, the total repayable and the interest for several amounts and terms, plus what settling early would cost in the model.
How to choose
Match the amount and the term to the plan, then read the total repayable rather than the monthly figure alone: a longer term lowers the payment and raises the cost. Acorn Personal Loan suits smaller sums over shorter terms, Treehouse Improvement Loan larger sums over longer ones, and Wheelbarrow Car Loan a vehicle-shaped purchase. All three are fictional; no credit check, decision or money exists.
