Opening an Account — What Happens in the Story

Entirely fictional. Thoroughly nutty. Welcome to another branch of our story.

A phone showing the fictional AcornBank app.
A fictional bank, a real sense of humour. All people, places, products and figures are invented. No real banking or financial advice. About this demo.

What happens in the story

Opening an account at AcornBank takes one leaf, one label and one character with a goal. The label names the pot, the leaf records the opening amount, and the branch manager nibbles one corner to make it official. There is no form, no identity check and no waiting period, because there is no account.

The fictional steps

  1. Choose a range: current accounts, savings, mortgages, investments or credit cards.
  2. Read the product’s eligibility page and its access rule before its rate.
  3. Check the worked example that matches the story amount.
  4. Write the goal on a label. That is the whole application.

The real answer

Nobody can open anything here. Real account opening involves a real bank, real identity checks and real terms, none of which this demo provides or imitates beyond the furniture. Keep real details out of the hollow.

The very small bark print

The AcornBank app, online banking and telephone banking exist only in this story. There is nothing to download, no store listing, no telephone number and no account to sign into. Never enter real credentials or card details anywhere on this site. Read why this bank is fictional.
